Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) is a 5-year planning tool to guide infrastructure goals, projects, and funding strategies.

Description

To perform environment assessment, design, construction, and construction oversight of water system improvements for the Williams Acres Water & Sanitation District in McKinley County.  The proposed project will eliminate the need for seven community wells and tie-in to the City of Gallup for long-term water supply. The District proposes to tap into the western portion of Reach 27.1 of the Navajo Gallup Water Supply Project.  The system will tie into the meter station constructed for Reach 27.1. The Williams Acres water supply connection includes 20,000 feet of 8-inch waterline.  This project will provide the infrastructure to supply water to all the homes in the service area.  A total of 18 fire hydrants, 56 isolation valves, and two master meter stations will also be installed. To date, the District has completed a Preliminary Engineering Report to select the preferred alternative.  The District has applied for design funds from Water Trust Board, but was denied in 2018.  In 2019, the New Mexico State Legislature provided $200,000 in capital outlay funds towards the design.
